A Dynamic Online Study Platform for Real-World Asthma Research
At Arnold Consultancy & Technology, we combine our healthcare expertise with cutting-edge digital tools to create smarter research experiences. The CHARIOT Study featured a custom online interface developed by our team to:
- Collect real-time data from multiple clinical sites
- Randomize participating patients and sites
- Provide a more representative sample of the population
Instead of relying on slow, manual methods, we used an online case report form to streamline data collection and improve consistency across sites. This approach increased convenience for researchers and ensured a stronger evidence base for outcomes.
Live Results and Real-Time Analysis
Our platform wasn’t just for data entry — it supported real-time reporting. As new patients were entered into the system, participating sites received dynamic reports through a feature we developed called the Control Site Report. These reports:
- Showed whether a patient’s asthma was classified as controlled or uncontrolled
- Included clear explanations based on the data submitted
- Enabled immediate feedback and actionable insights for researchers and clinicians
Cost-Effectiveness Modeling
To support evidence-based healthcare decisions, we integrated a cost-effectiveness analysis framework into the CHARIOT platform.
Why it matters:
When choosing between treatment options, it’s essential to understand both their health outcomes and economic impact. Cost-effectiveness analysis helps determine whether a new intervention provides enough added benefit to justify its cost.
We develop interactive, easy-to-use and data-driven models that compare treatments by cost and outcomes, visualize trade-offs, and support policy decisions.
